Truth Is Thursday: Soda Strong

Truth Is: I didn’t write this in my post about Dale’s win on Sunday, but did y’all notice he not only won on Father’s Day, but he did it in a mostly black and white car (the colors of his dad’s iconic car)? Goosebumps.

Truth Is: Soda update! I’m still in the Soda Free Zone, and I’ve FINALLY shaken the headaches! Yay! For a while, I didn’t think they would ever go away.

Truth Is: All my exes live in Texas. It’s a song…by George Strait…it’s in my head…can’t shake it. Think it’s because of that cute commercial where the couple drives across a bunch of different states.

Truth Is: Dallas quotes of the week come from the one and only, J.R. Ewing.

“My friends are in the Statehouse. My enemies are gonna be harder to find.”

Truth Is: And let’s not forget this one…

“Bullets don’t seem to have much of an effect on me, darlin’”

For those who didn’t watch Dallas back in the day, J.R. was referencing the wildly successful, “Who Shot J.R.?” episode.

Brilliant...

...so unlike this week’s Truth Is post—so sorry for the boredom factor. I’m hoping things will be picking up very soon now. ;)

    1. Oh, I'll so take that bloggy high five! Quitting soda has been rough, but dang if I don't feel better! It's weird. The big test will be football season...that could be bad: Me + football - soda = possible nightmare? lol

    1. Oh yeah! LOL I did laugh out at that one! I'm loving the dialogue they're giving the characters, especially the originals. :) Loves seeing Cliff again. I wonder if we'll see Afton or Pam down the road.

  3. Frisky! Congrats on the soda (we call it pop here) free zone! Bud stopped drinking Coke about 2 years ago, and says its made a big difference in many small ways. Now he just drinks iced tea, water, and beer. I'm not much of a pop drinker (too sweet!) so I'm only tempted to drink it when I'm training for a long race and I've run all the energy out of me. Then I want a cold Coke and a slice of pizza. Not the best stuff to eat after a run. I have cut down on my coffee intake drastically--and no headaches, either. Amazing what small things we can do to feel better.

    1. :) Thank you! You are so right--I've been shocked to see that I feel better without it. I swear I got more headaches while I drank the soda. *knock on wood* I haven't had a single headache since the caffeine withdrawal headaches stopped.

Well, you work so hard, you deserve to treat yourself! Plus, I don't think a soda on occasion is a bad thing. And, Lord Help Me, I don't know if I can be all soda free during football season. I may need to make a two soda a week rule or something (one for the Cowboys, one for LSU/Longhorns). lol

  5. All my exes are having sexes. Now that's in my darn head. I remain impressed by your willpower. I have no intention of giving up diet soda, but I have cut out a huge amount of sugar and carbs.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. LOL--You are so funny!

Thank you--I'm thinking I'll limit myself to soda for football only. That's still good, right? :/
