Just Another Spastic Sunday

Sunday

Wake up: roll around, relax, lazy it up.

After a while, race time was rapidly approaching, so I gathered my stuff to settle into my very favorite chair and…BOOM!

No power.

Thus:  No race.  No Internet.  No computer.  No microwave.

Enter cranky me.

Although I could have broken out the trusty pen and paper, my brain was much too consumed with the race I couldn’t see.  Now, my cell has internet, but I rarely use it. Honestly, I have no idea if it charges extra for each minute online or whatever.  I’m kind of museum-like when it comes to my phone.

So, I just sat and read a Sookie book.

Eventually, curiosity got the better of me and I just had to check the race on my phone.  Reckon I’ll find out how they charge on my next bill.  Super fun.

Power comes back in time to see Tony Stewart celebrating a win.  Dale finished 10th and moved to 4th in points. Consistency is the name of the game in this sport.  Win when you can, but having consistently good finishes sets you up nicely for the chase. I know he probably wanted more, but steady wins these races in my book, and he’s got that going.

Consistency, however, is somewhat of a misfire when it comes to the rest of the day…unless we consider it consistently screwy.

With the power fueling my viewing pleasure and food-making technology, I’m back to my relaxed, lazy mode.  Until…

Pow!  No cable.

Thus: No television.  No Internet.

And this is where we call it a day, curl up, and put on a movie that will de-stress and demolish the annoyances…like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part II.

No clue what was in the air yesterday, but everything was just completely spastic.

  1. Aww, that really sucks. Did you figure out how to use the internet on your phone? Hope your day got better!

    1. I did...kind of. Now, I just have to wait and see if my monthly internet fee covers time spent on the web, or if there's an extra charge. I really have no clue. Isn't that awful?! lol *blushes*

  2. Don't ever put me in a place where I have to live without electricity on a regular basis. I couldn't handle it. I'm so spoiled. I can't even live without a DVR anymore.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Oh, me too. I don't do well sans power. And I really don't do well sans race.

  3. Oh dear. What a Sunday!

Mine included my phone line being blown down by 60mph winds. Sounds like you won between the two, though. lol

    1. Yeah, so much for a nice, relaxing Sunday. I feel like half my weekend was taken away and replaced with aggravation. lol

      I hate high winds--very scary--so I'd say it's a toss up. lol

  4. Yikes, sounds like you wouldn't do well camping! Unless it was on the side of a race track!
Strong winds here last night and today. We're on the hospital power lines so everyone in Nanaimo may be in the dark but we have light!

    1. LOL--I've never been camping, but I'm pretty sure tents and I wouldn't mix well. Oh, well, race track would be an exception. lol

High winds are so spooky. I'm glad you kept your power! :)

  5. Oh boy, sounds like a tough one.

    BUT!

You know that things will get better once you've had some Harry Potter in you :)

    1. It was bizarre, for sure.

    1. When the cable went out, it just meant I lost all my television channels (like HBO, ESPN, etc.) and internet access. Because the power was back on at that point, I could watch DVDs. :)

  8. My son had us pick three drivers each to see who'd win the points battle. I got #1 with Junior, Smoke, and Burton. Scrappy (who my son picked three random drivers for) edged KC out for third.

    1. Oh, that's completely awesome! Sounds like y'all have loads of fun with races. Do you do that kind of thing every race?

I was losing it not being able to watch the race. I mean, of all times to lose power (on a perfect weather day, might I add)

  9. I'm really OK without electricity and tech for a few days at a time.

But God help the person who takes my hot water...

    1. I probably would have been less cranky if it hadn't gone out right in time for the race. Seriously bad timing.

Oh, I've had to endure the no hot water thing. NIGHTMARE.
