Double Award Time!

I received two incredible awards from the wonderful Hazel just before Christmas.  Thank you so much, Hazel!

The first award is the Versatile Blogger Award. With this, the rules (or guidelines) are as follows:

1. Thank the blogger who awarded you (see above)
2. Reveal 5 facts about yourself.
3. Pass this award to 7 fellow bloggers.

Five Facts About Me:

* Tony Little scares me.  No joke.  He’s the guy with the long curly hair and does all those infomercials for elliptical machines and stuff.  I’m sure he’s a nice man and all, but…he scares me.  If they cast him in The Walking Dead as a zombie, I may never recover.

* I have forlorn eyebrows.  I swear I do.  It’s not so noticeable in person, but in pictures, when my bangs are pulled back or off to the side, they totally look forlorn.  Bangs are my best friends.

* Sometimes, I really love to listen to oldies—The Beach Boys, Smokey Robinson, The Doors, etc.  I love Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, James Taylor, and Carole King.  For me, their lyrics speak to life and love so profoundly.

I mean, how incredibly moving are these lyrics:

Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air and feather canyons everywhere
I’ve looked at clouds that way
But now they only block the sun, they rain and they snow on everyone
So many things I would have done, but clouds got in my way

I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow it’s cloud illusions I recall
I really don’t know clouds at all.

~Both Sides Now, Joni Mitchell

* Animal based books and films are not such a good idea for me. Where the Red Fern Grows…yeah, I cried for days after that one.  Old Yeller?  Never. Again.

* I feel abandoned…by my empty Christmas cookie tin.

I'd like to give this award to my brand new blogging friends, who recently stumbled upon my tiny corner of the blogging world.  Some of them are brand new to blogging, so please stop by and say "hi" when you get a chance. :)

* Ginger at Quirks-and-irks
* Kate at Kick Mii Kate
* Barfly at SSS Porch Party
* Battle Born Brainiac at free stuff and cheap stuff

Now, the second award is the I Love Your Blog Award.

This award goes to EVERYONE because I really do love all of your blogs. :)

  1. Geez, is Tony Little still going? That guys was a freak of nature years ago when I was a kid! And I grew up on oldie's music and I've always loved it.

Forlorn eyebrows? Do they only work in pictures? :p

  2. I don't know who Tony Little is and I think I'm grateful. I'm not really sure what forlorn eyebrows are like, but I have mine dyed to match my hair and I love my eyebrows. I also get them waxed. No plucking for me, my dear. Those oldies artists of which you speak -- I grew up with them. They are not oldies to me.

  3. Jay-Yeah, I was flicking through channels and he was on pushing shoes, I think??

My parents introduced me to the oldies when I was little--I love them. :) Carly Simon is a girl's best friend in times of stress. :)

You know, I keep them plucked, but I think it's just the way they're naturally arched/shaped. I can't explain it. lol My mom thinks it's hilarious because she doesn't see it. lol

Junebug--Have to call you Junebug because that's a nickname for Dale Earnhardt Jr. :) I like plucking my eyebrows, odd as it sounds. I love that music--it's so profound, yet calming and fun.

  4. Don't know who Tony is but if he can be cast as a member of The Walking Dead, then he must be scary... (I don't like that show at all! LOL)

  8. Congrats on your awards! In my book, if anyone deserves to get them, it's you!

Tony Little scares me too.. I never thought about him in a horror flick, but I now have an even more disturbing visual in my head, so thanks for that! Ha Ha! ;~)

I'm so with you on the animal movies. Old Yeller scarred me for life. Hubs rented it for daughter child's 6th birthday party sleepover! I was like, Are you kidding me? I wasn't going to let the girls watch it, but she overheard me saying no and decided she just had to see it cuz daddy said it was just fine... BIG mistake.

Have a fantastic rest of the week, my frisky friend!

  10. Eek! Thank you so much!

Any movie or book about animals will make me cry. Even if it's not a sad one. I can't explain. I'm probably a psychopath or something.
