Truth Is Thursday, Pre-Super...huh?

Truth Is: Can’t understand why a company would actually okay a commercial that does nothing but have people screaming.  How can that possibly be effective when it makes viewers say “shut up” and hit mute?  I really question advertising execs sometimes.

Truth Is: Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part I will be on DVD February 11th.  I’m buying it.  I like the movies, though they’re not Harry Potter.  I’m not sure it’s entirely healthy to watch it around Vomit Day, but, you know, I’m a risk taker.

Truth Is: Pretty sure I have a demonic paper plate holder.  It’s the only one that holds the paper plate hostage.  When it finally releases the plate, the dang thing flips and sends crumbs all over me and the floor.

Truth Is: I’m really not interested in the Super Bowl this year.  No Cowboys, no Saints, no Texans…blah.  I mean, I’m happy for all fans of the Giants and Patriots—it will be a fantastic day for them.

Can’t explain this disinterested feeling…Cowboys’ fans knew they wouldn’t make an appearance; we barely had a snowball’s chance in hell of making the playoffs. So, I’m not blah because the Cowboys aren’t in it.

Maybe it would’ve been cool to see a Harbaugh-Harbaugh showdown or see a new team in there, like the Texans.  Maybe that’s what it is that makes this game so blah to me—there’s no real story to it.  I guess the story for this one would be the Giants/Patriots, Part II or Patriots Seek Redemption, something like that.

Maybe I’ll get into it once the game starts…that’s probably what will happen.  Maybe.

Anyway, good luck to any and all Pats/Giants fans!  Enjoy it y’all!

  1. I'm not interested in the Super Bowl, per se, but I think I'm still going to watch it. It *IS* supposed to be the best vs the best, after all.

I'm not too excited about the commercials this year, though. From what I've seen, I'm not really impressed.

    1. lol--Oh, I'll watch, but I don't really care one way or the other. :/

Same here on the commercials. :/ Dang, it's gonna be the Super-Blah (unless you're a Giants/Pats fan, of course).

  2. I hate that commercial, too! It's so annoying and stupid! I'm not a football fan, but I'll probably watch and cheer for the Pats!

    1. I would LOVE to know who gave the green light on that ad. It's absolutely horrible.

I figured you would cheer on the Pats. :) I hope you are feeling better. *Hugs*

  3. Crap. I forgot it was Thursday until I clicked your post. I am a complete failure at my own carnival. :(

Living here in Patriot country means a few things for those of us brave enough to boldly say "I don't give a sh1t about the game"... mainly for me it means I get to eat a lot of chili and my sun room floor won't get done for at least two weeks. :)

    1. LOL--Nah, not a failure; it's just one of those weeks.

More LOL--That's what my mom keeps saying: "Super Bowl means holiday in my book." Have to love that.

  4. I know which commercial you're talking about and I freaking hate it! You have a paper plate holder?

    1. Isn't it awful?! WHO on earth thought that was a good idea?

Oh, yeah, they're just these little plastic things that keep the paper plate from folding on you. :)

  5. You aren't the only one bleh about the Super Bowl this year, Frisky. I'm so nonchalant about the teams (Patriots & Giants AGAIN??) I probably won't even watch. Wonder what our local PBS station has on that day...

    1. It's so sad. Usually, I can't wait for the SB, the halftime show, the commercials...but, this year it's so eh. :/

  6. I know it is ridiculous but I didn't mind the twilight books/movies. It is a guilty pleasure. I have no interest in the super bowl either, especially since I don't care for football, but the people I work for are going. Apparently Dad decided to treat his 11 yr old eldest son to tickets.

    Anywho...hope you enjoy a great weekend. :)

    1. Exactly--Twilight is a guilty pleasure, and I honestly really am looking forward to the DVD. *blushes*

Wow, well I'm sure they'll have great fun. That's a big gift for an 11 year-old!!!

I hope you do, too!!! *Hugs*

  7. What is Vomit Day? It doesn't sound like fun. I bet you'll get into the game and enjoy it.

    Love,

    1. Vomit Day is what most refer to as Valentine's Day. I just can't call that wretched day by its proper name. lol

Maybe I will get into the game...we'll see. lol

    2. Pretty much every day is Vomit Day to me.

  8. Heh, heh . . . I remember your "Vomit Day" post from last year. Took on legendary status, it did. :)

And, of course, I'm simply OVER THE MOON that my team made it to the big game this year. WHOO-HOOOO! I so can't *wait* for Sunday. Actually, it's all I can do to contain my excitement and not explode. I've been trying not to think too much on it until Sunday. And then . . .

    GO BIG BLUE!

    1. :) Thank you! Those were Vomit Day moments I shall never forget. lol

Aww, see, I'm happy you're so happy!!!! It's such a great feeling, knowing your team made it to the big stage! Enjoy! And good luck to you and your team!

  9. I don't know the commercial of which you speak, but it sounds horrendous. I usually hit mute once the commercials come on because they are all annoying to a point.

And I used to use paper plate holders, too. Then I started buying the really thick plates so I no longer have to use those. lol

    1. Oh, it's AWFUL! It's just a bunch of people literally screaming at the top of their lungs. :/

Yeah, maybe the thicker plates would be a better idea because the demonic plate holder and I simply do not get along. lol

  10. So true!

    Frisky virgin huh?

    Love that thought....

But a virgin I am NOT....

    1. :) Thank you--it was the best way I could think to describe myself, since I'm a virgin and quite frisky. lol

  11. Oh I sooo agree with you! I'm still going to watch it, but only because I want to see the commercials and yes, I'll admit it, Madonna. Hey what can I say? I grew with her (figuratively speaking) and am curious to see what she'll do. And just wait, the Texans will be in it next year for sure!!! :)

    1. LOL--I used to sing "Vogue" all the time! Still love that song! If she sings "Like A Virgin," so help me. :/ lol

Wouldn't it be cool to see a Cowboys-Texans Super Bowl someday? Would LOVE that. But, I'm pretty sure your Texans are in a much better place to make it to the SB than the Cowboys right now.

    1. They had this really amazing ad in the paper today for the DVD. I guess they are having a midnight release party or something. Pretty cool. I'm really looking forward to getting it. :)
